Terms of service
Scope, accounts and keys, acceptable use, billing, API changes and termination.
Updated 2026-10-09
This page summarizes key points. The service contract and annexes signed between FIM and the customer govern.
01The service
Dato is a data API gateway operated by Beijing FIM Network Technology Co., Ltd. ("FIM"). It covers company records, identity verification, bank branch codes and exchange rates, plus the Workspace, documentation and MCP access.
FIM opens accounts; there is no public sign-up. Available APIs, credits and expiry follow the agreed plan.
02Accounts and keys
Keys are issued per app and shown once. Customers keep them safe and out of code repositories, and disable the app or revoke the key at once if a leak is suspected.
Calls made with a customer’s key count as that customer’s calls and are metered and charged as usual.
03Acceptable use
Use the APIs only for lawful business purposes. Obtain the data subject’s consent before calling a verification API.
Without FIM’s written consent, do not resell API results or provide them in bulk to third parties.
04Billing
Credits are charged per call at the price agreed in your plan. Repeat queries for the same data within a tenant are free, and so are invalid params and data source errors or timeouts. See Pricing for the full rules.
Credits come in batches with an expiry; they lapse at expiry and never reset monthly.
05Data and availability
Data comes through partner data providers and public sources. Each API has a fixed freshness, and meta.fetchedAt shows when the data was obtained.
FIM works to keep the service available and the data timely but does not guarantee the absolute accuracy of third-party source data. When a source fails, the API returns an error and nothing is charged.
06API changes
v1 only adds fields. Breaking changes ship only as /api/v2/ with an announced migration period.
07Suspension and termination
FIM may disable apps used in breach of these terms or the law. After termination, call records are kept for the period agreed in the service contract and then deleted.
08Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China.
